PART II BY-LAWS
OF THE
MUSIC CITY AVAITORS, INC. (MCA)


ARTICLE I - ORGANIZATION

Section 1. The organization existing under these By-Laws is to be known as Music City Aviators, Inc. (MCA).

Section 2. The objectives of this organization are set forth in the Constitution.

ARTICLE II - DUTIES OF OFFICERS

Section 1. President. The President shall preside at all Club meetings of the membership and shall carry out the policies established in the Constitution and By-Laws. The President shall decide all questions of order, sign all official documents and perform all customary duties pursuant to the office of President. The President shall act as the official Club spokes person; appoint committees and may sit in on any and all committees so appointed.

Section 2. Vice-President. The Vice-President shall assume the duties and have the powers of the President in the event of his death, inability to serve, resignation, or absence.

Section 3. Secretary. The Secretary shall maintain a record of the proceedings of all meetings, maintain a membership list, carry on all correspondence, read communications at each meeting and dispatch any correspondence that MCA originates. The Secretary/Treasurer shall furnish every new member with a copy of the Club Constitution and By-Laws and any rules or regulations which may be adopted.

Section 4. The Treasurer shall collect all dues, assessments and amounts owing to the Club and deposit same to the checking/savings accounts in the Club's name. The Treasurer shall discharge all financial obligations of the Club as approved by the Executive Council or Club's membership. At the conclusion of the term of office, the Treasurer shall turn over all records and cash-on-hand to the duly elected successor.

ARTICLE III - COMMITTEES

Section 1. There may be any number of standing committees and appointed chairman(s) as deemed necessary by the president.

Section 2. The President may appoint any other ad hoc committees deemed necessary for the orderly operation of the Club.

ARTICLE IV - MEETINGS

Winter monthly meetings will be held on the third Tuesday of each month at a designated location agreed to and arranged by the Executive Council, starting at 7:00 p.m. Each member shall be notified in advance of any change to the meeting time or place.

ARTICLE V - CHECKS AND FUNDS

Section 1. Checks - All checks issued in the name of the Club shall be signed by the Treasury except in an emergency situation, then the president may sign checks.

Section 2. Funds - All funds and properties shall stand in the name of the Club. The funds of the Club shall be disbursed only as authorized by the membership.

Section 3. All funds belonging to the Club shall be deposited to the credit of the Club in such depositories as shall be designated from time to time by resolution of the Executive Council.

Section 4. All disbursements shall have receipts or some written record/evidence that authorizes each disbursement for auditing purposes.

ARTICLE VI - EXECUTIVE COUNCIL

The executive council of the MCA shall be comprised of the President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, and the Board of Directors. This council is empowered to set operational procedures for Club.

ARTICLE VII - NEWSLETTER

Section 1. The Club may have a newsletter which is to be published monthly. The newsletter shall be mailed at least five (5) days before monthly meetings to each active member, AMA, AMA District 5 Vice-President, other R/C clubs in Tennessee, and other interested individuals.

Section 2. The purpose of the newsletter is to provide newsworthy information to all Club members concerning its members, radio controlled model aviation, events and activities of the Club.

Section 3. A mailing and telephone list of all members in good standing will be printed and made available to the membership.

ARTICLE VIII - SAFETY

It is the responsibility of each MCA member to maintain, enforce and follow the safety practices of this Club and AMA. The President will appoint a field safety officer who will ensure that each new member is informed of safety requirements and that all members are kept abreast of safety practices.

ARTICLE IX - AMENDMENT

Proposals for amendments to the By-Laws shall be presented in writing at a regular monthly meeting. To be adopted, the amendment must receive a majority affirmative vote of the active members present.

MEMBERSHIP LIST. A list of all current active members will be provided by the Treasurer upon request.

PART IV. FREQUENCY ASSIGNMENT CHART

A frequency assignment chart cannot be effectively maintained due to the rapid change of membership frequencies.

PART V. ACTIVITIES

At the January meeting we will schedule contests and/or Club events for the coming year. These events usually include:
Club participation in other contests or fun flies.
Club fun flies.
Family get-togethers, cook-outs, etc.
In addition to the above, we have one fixed Club event for the year. The event is the Fall fun Fly - usually held on a Saturday in October. Other events may be scheduled as members desire.

PART VI. CLUB EQUIPMENT

The Club may own equipment such as a Club House, chairs, canopies, a public address system, and R/C Trainers and related equipment, etc.

PART VII. FLIGHT TRAINING

To expedite the beginning flyer through the learning process to the point where they can safely fly their aircraft on their own, there will be competent instruction available from the club membership to assist the beginner. Assistance will also be available in the selection of equipment and building techniques.
