PART I
CONSTITUTION
OF THE
MUSIC CITY AVIATORS INCORPORATED
ARTICLE I - NAME, AFFILIATION AND PURPOSE
Section 1. This organization shall be known as the MUSIC CITY AVIATORS, INC. (MCA) and shall be a chartered club of the ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS (AMA).
Section 2. The purposes of the Club are to foster and advance interest and fellowship of its members in the hobby of building and flying radio controlled
miniature aircraft; to encourage the study and discussion of problems and techniques involved with the flying of radio controlled miniature aircraft; to
encourage interest in this hobby in non-members; to provide a meeting place and a flying site or sites for members of the Club.
Section 3. The flying site at the present time will be located at Peeler Park, a Metro owned park which is not open to the Public except for those who have
a current Metro Park Permit to fly Model Aircraft.
ARTICLE II - MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Membership in the Club shall be open to all who are interested in radio controlled miniature aircraft. The membership shall be limited to those who
have a current Metro Park Permit and a valid AMA Membership.
Section 2. Types of Membership
Active member - An active member is one who has paid their annual dues, and is a member in good standing of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and posesses
a current Metro Park Permit. An active member has all Club rights and privileges.
Junior member - A junior member is one who is under the age of 19, have paid their annual dues, and is a member in good standing of the Academy of Model Aeronautics
(AMA) with a current Metro Park Permit. A junior member has no voting rights.
Honorary member - An honorary member is one who is a member in good standing of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA), and has been designated this membership status
by a majority vote of the active members present at a scheduled MCA meeting. This membership status is reserved for those MCA members who have contributed
significantly to the good of the Club. The number of honorary memberships awarded shall be limited to ten percent of the total membership of the Club. This membership
status requires no annual dues. Honorary members have all Club rights and privileges.
Section 3. Requirements of all members:
a. Each member shall be responsible for the proper care and protection of Club property.
b. Each member shall be responsible for conduct and policing of any area where they fly, so as to keep and perpetuate a good Club image. A member, whose behavior/conduct
is repeatedly inconsistent with the behavior considered acceptable by the general membership, may be expelled from membership by a majority vote of members present at a
scheduled MCA meeting
c. Each member shall be responsible for the proper enforcement of all Club, Metro Park and AMA regulations.
d. To the best of their ability, every member is encouraged to support Club activities and to participate in the administration of Club functions such as contests, static
displays or any other activity dedicated to the promotion of R/C model aircraft.
ARTICLE III - OFFICERS
Section 1. The officers of MCA shall be:
President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer
Section 2. Officer nominations will be made during the September meeting. Officers will be elected annually at the October meeting. Valid membership will be established
prior to voting tabulation. Election of officers will be by majority vote of members present. New officers will be installed at the January meeting.
Section 3. Vacancies (except for President) occurring between elections will be filled at the first regular meeting after the vacancy is announced. Article III, Section 2
of the Constitution, valid membership and majority vote applies to filling vacancies. If the Presidency is vacated, the Vice-President will assume the position of President
until the next election.
ARTICLE IV - FINANCE
Section 1. The fiscal year for MCA shall be January 1 through December 31.
Section 2. The President, Vice-President, and any committee chairman in concert with the Secretary/Treasurer, will estimate the capital available for the year and budget the
expenditures for all activities planned by the Club. This budget shall be presented to the membership for approval no later than the March meeting.
Section 3. At the end of the Secretary/Treasurer term of office or at the direction of the MCA president, an audit shall be conducted of all financial activities of the Club.
Section 4. Auditing. The Treasurer shall provide the President each month or when required, the bank statement and the check book register. The Treasurer shall prepare and
present a treasurers report each month to MCA members.
Section 5. The Treasurer shall use Computer Software to maintain the check register and reports. The Club shall provide this software.
ARTICLE V - DUES
The Annual Dues shall be as follows:

Membership annual dues are to be paid by March 31 of each year. Failure to do so will result in loss of membership.
New members paying their annual dues after October 1, shall be paid members for the coming year.
ARTICLE VI - AMENDMENTS
Proposals for amendments to the Constitution shall be presented in writing at a regular monthly meeting in the format it is to appear in when adopted. To be adopted, the
amendment must receive a majority affirmative vote of the active members present. All members will be notified in writing or by newsletter or e-mail, giving the date the
proposal will be voted on.
ARTICLE VII - DISSOLUTION
Should the MCA be dissolved, all assets remaining after liability settlement will be divided equally among the active members.
